Comment National Pathogen Resource Center (NPRC) is launched by Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Other organizations including Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; National Institutes for Food and Drug Control, China; Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Qinghai Institute for Endemic Disease Prevention and Control, China; Wuhan Institute of virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. All above organizations was designated by National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, and responsible for the preservation of microbial resources. NPRC preserved all kinds of pathogenic viruses, bacteria, fungi and other characteristic resources, especially highly pathogenic microorganism collected in China. As the supporting organization, China CDC is the only unit for the preservation of certain specific pathogenic microorganisms, designated by the World Health Organization and National Health Commission of China.
