Comment CMW-IA is a focused collection of fungi and bacteria including mostly (but not exclusively) South African strains isolated from trees and grain crops. The goal of CMW-IA is to one of the best collections of fungi and bacteria from South Africa and the African continent. CMW-IA has been established on the foundation of the research culture collection (CMW) of the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute (FABI), featured extensively in the mycological and plant pathological literature since 1980 and that accommodates approximately 50 000 strains.
